So, I know I said I wasn't gonna weigh myself until Friday, but I did and I lost 2lbs! I feel great, even though I know that's not a whole lot, certainly not as much as that guy on The Biggest Loser last week who lost 41lbs! That's not a typo. This man lost 41 lbs in 2 weeks. I didn't even think that was possible, until I read somewhere that the Biggest Loser weight loss formula is Weight X 7 =Calories for the day, minus calories expended that day. In other words, if I were to use that formula from my starting weight, I would be allowed 196 (lbs) X 7=1272 calories per day. And then they would make me exercise til I dropped...So you can see how someone >400lbs would lose weight easily on their program, especially when they limit food and then add vigorous exercise unlike anything any of the 400 pounders are doing at home. No wonder they're dropping the weight so fast; they probably would lose weight just sticking to the diet with no exercise, but it wouldn't be as impressive to their viewers. I shudder to think what might be in store next season...I read somewhere that the trainers on the show have very little imput into the weekly physical challenges. That's up to the producers, which is pretty scary. : /
Speaking of scary, I also discovered that there is no scale in my parent's house. I can't believe this! My Mom has always been weight conscious, and eats healthy food, and my Dad is pretty fit these days, so I guess they just don't feel the need. But I do. So I've been using the scale next to my desk at work. It's right nearby and it's always there. And it sure beats using the one in Publix.
